Sales Lead Auction
Michael Rosenberg wrote an interesting article about sales leads and creating an auction marketplace for for salespeople to specify the exact types of sales leads that they want to buy and bid on them in an auction-style marketplace.
For example, "In a bid-based leads marketplace, the auto dealer can specify the exact lead he is looking for — a loaded black convertible Mustang GT, for example — and bid the price he wants on as many leads as he needs."
This is quite interesting. I never would have imagined an auction for sales leads. I guess it'll be like eBay for leads???
He didn't provide a link to the site so I wasn't able to check it out. This could work if he creates a marketplace with enough buyers and sellers and if the bidding and receiving process isn't too time consuming. One thing that should be taken into account, if it hasn't already, is that a lot of people buy leads because the prospecting process is so time consuming and, hence, expensive (time = money). So, the bidding and buying process shouldn't be time-intensive because that could defeat the purpose of buying leads.
*** Be sure to create a TradePals profile to receive free sales leads. Many already have, like this provider of 3D CAD software from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and this health/life/dental insurance broker from Hollywood, California.
