Wouldn't it be great if you could turn a hobby into a business? Is photography
one of your hobbies? Many people have turned their photography hobby into a successful business. Many
have started it in their spare time - a few hours per week - and from home. The following photographers
provide pointers for starting your own successful photography business:
•John Goldstein - It’s not difficult to earn some extra money with
your photography! Here are the keys to getting started:
•You don’t need fancy equipment, but get to know your camera
•Make sure your camera has enough megapixels
•Build a free website to show your images
•Shoot a lot! The more you shoot, the better!
•Be realistic. Don’t expect to be the next Ansel Adams
•Use iStockphoto.com to sell your images
»Visit John online at www.JohnHoldstein.com.
•Jeff Wolfram - First figure out your "Cost of Doing Business" how much
all your expenses cost; rent, electric, camera gear, business insurance, etc. divide that by the amount of
days you plan on shooting in one year, never more than 75 days. This will give you an idea of your "walk away
limit" or you will find yourself paying the client for the photography & they won’t respect your lack of
business sense. You’re equipment, time & effort cost money, you need to subdue any insecurity and charge
an honest compensation. Great luck to you.
