Do you have a website and are confused about which hosting provider to
choose? The following IT experts share their free tips on how to choose a good host:
•Bernard O'Mahony - You've got your new site! Spent days,
no, weeks, setting it up, and you're feeling pretty proud of yourself! And rightly so! But
now it's time to choose hosting for it! Which host do you choose? Which plan is best suited
for your needs? Which is better - an expensive plan or a cheaper one? When you're looking for
a reliable host for your website, don't be fooled by those colorful, razzamataz hosts offering
excessive webspace and bandwidth! The truth is, 90% of websites require only a small amount of
hosting and bandwidth space. An average of around 30MB webspace with 1GB Monthly Transfer Rate
(or bandwidth), will suffice more than most site owners. If you're a small to large sized business
then 100+MB and 2~3GB respectively, will suffice. Buying more than you need only raises costs as
well as takes up valuable server space, resulting in slower connections. Also, don't be afraid to
ask a hosting service if they are willing to work out a deal with you. If they're a good service -
they will be happy to help!
